  Defect-OPT is the world’s most advanced optimization system for avoiding defects and excluding entire sections of sheet.
It is a dynamic optimization system, available as an additional module of the Re-OPT, which is able to exclude areas recognized as defective by the GlassInspector® scanner produced by Deltamax, or similar scanners, which is installed between the loading machine and the cutting system.
In the event of defects, the Line Manager module (supervisor system of the cutting table) acquires the map of the defects, automatically suspends the cutting of the sheet and, thanks to the integrated Re-OPT module, re-optimizes the job in progress, excluding the defective areas and sending the new cutting plan to the numerical control of the cutting table, which then restarts the current program.
Excluding the defect before cutting, compared to (or in combination with) the more common quality control usually placed downstream in the production sequence, saves time and raw material. A defect intercepted at the beginning of the production line avoids wasting resources and, above all, the processing of pieces that would then be discarded: a glass with a defect that has arrived at the end of production is in any case a glass that has undergone all the processing foreseen but which will have to be repeated on a new glass that will be produced, while the paired glass(es) that is already ready will have to be parked waiting for restoration (new time and new material).
